Haruna Kawaguchi film surpasses 1 billion yen at Japanese box office

The film ‘Mama ga Mou Kono Sekai ni Inakutemo: Watashi no Inochi no Nikki’, starring Haruna Kawaguchi, has surpassed 1 billion yen in box office revenue within nine days of its October 2 release. Directed by Yuki Yamato, the movie is based on the bestselling memoir by Nagomi Endo, who was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in 2018 at the age of 21.

As of October 10, the film recorded total box office earnings of approximately 1.12 billion yen and attracted 761,125 viewers. The production has seen increasing momentum, with second-week earnings rising 114% compared to the previous week. The story follows the protagonist's journey of love for her husband, Shoichi, and her unborn child despite her terminal diagnosis.

To reflect the character's journey, Kawaguchi appeared with pink hair in promotional materials shared by her management. The visual change, intended to honor the character Nagomi's wish to be remembered, has drawn significant attention from fans on social media.
