Haruna Kawaguchi stars in new film based on true memoir

Actors Haruna Kawaguchi, Mahoka Matsumoto, and Runa Nakajima appeared at a pre-release event for the film ‘Mama ga Mou Kono Sekai ni Inakutemo: Watashi no Inochi no Nikki’ (Even if Mom is No Longer in This World: My Life's Diary). During the event, Nakajima became emotional while reflecting on the bond shared with her onscreen sisters, played by Kawaguchi and Matsumoto.

The film is based on the bestselling memoir by Kazu Endo, which chronicles her battle with stage IV colon cancer starting in 2018. Despite her diagnosis at age 21, Endo continued to write a diary until ten days before her death at age 24, documenting her love for her husband, Shoichi, and their unborn child. Kawaguchi stars as Endo, while Mahiro Takasugi portrays her husband. New promotional footage and stills have been released, including a poignant wedding scene where the protagonist expresses gratitude to her parents and her resolve to face life's challenges alongside her husband.
