Haruomi Hosono releases first new album in seven years

Japanese music legend Haruomi Hosono has released ‘Yours Sincerely’, his 23rd studio album and his first collection of new music in seven years. The album features a blend of electronics, acoustic guitar, and ambient textures, reflecting a mix of his musical past and present.

Hosono, a founding member of the influential synth-pop group Yellow Magic Orchestra and a key figure in the band Happy End, has had a profound impact on global music. His work has served as an inspiration for various international artists, including Mac DeMarco and Vampire Weekend.

The new record explores themes of childhood and memory, utilizing instruments such as the vibraphone, keyboards, and synthesizers to create a reflective, niche sound.
