Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies announces constitutional law workshop in Nafplio

The Harvard University Center for Hellenic Studies has announced the opening of applications for a workshop titled ‘The Constitution in Simple Terms: How a Text Shapes Our Daily Lives’. The event is scheduled to take place on November 21 and 22, 2026, from 11:00 to 15:00, at the Center’s facilities in the historic Iatrou Mansion in Nafplio.

Coordinated by Spyros Vlachopoulos, a Professor of Public Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the workshop will explore the nature, function, and modern utility of constitutions. Topics include the historical milestones of the Greek Constitution since the 1821 Revolution, international constitutional types, the functioning of state organs, and the protection of individual rights. The program will also address how modern legal rules are increasingly influenced by international and European Union law.

The workshop is designed for the general public rather than exclusively for legal professionals, aiming to avoid technical jargon to emphasize that constitutional law affects all citizens. Due to limited capacity, participants will be selected by the academic coordinator. The deadline for electronic applications is October 25, 2026.
