Harvest festivals held in Ramsau and Waldthurn

Communities in Ramsau, Austria, and Waldthurn, Germany, recently held traditional harvest festivals (Erntedankfest) to express gratitude for the season's yields.

In Ramsau, the parish celebrated in the parish garden with musical accompaniment from the Ramsau traditional costume band and a women's singing group. The event highlighted the challenges faced by farmers during the spring and summer, specifically noting how heatwaves and lack of rain caused drought conditions that impacted harvests. The celebration included a holy mass and community festivities supported by the Ramsau Farmers' Association.

In Waldthurn, the Catholic Rural Youth (KLJB) organized the eve mass at St. Sebastian Parish Church. The festivities coincided with the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. A significant highlight of the Waldthurn event was the induction of 15 new members into the KLJB community, strengthening the local youth organization.
