Harvey Kurtzman documentary to screen at Edinburgh International Film Festival

The biographical documentary ‘The Mad World of Harvey Kurtzman’, directed by Bart Simpson, is set to screen at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The film explores the life and legacy of the influential American cartoonist and founder of MAD Magazine, tracing his career from his early work at Timely Comics (which became Marvel Comics) and EC Comics to his later years as a lecturer in New York.

Through interviews with Kurtzman’s daughter and literary executor, Nellie, the documentary examines how his satirical work shifted American humor from grand political commentary to the detailed examination of everyday life.
