Haryana approves 204 new posts to combat rising cybercrime
The Haryana government has approved 204 new positions for the Haryana Cybercrime Coordination Center (H4C) to address a significant rise in digital offenses. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)-2025 report, cybercrime cases in the state have increased by 166.5% over the last three years.
The new staffing includes seven gazetted officers, 161 police officers, 12 ministerial employees, and 15 Group D employees. To bolster technical capabilities, nine IT experts specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and cybersecurity will be hired on a contract basis.
During a meeting in Panchkula, Director General of Police Ajay Singhal announced a 15-day special campaign to apprehend hardcore criminals. He also directed the use of night blockades, patrols, and enhanced technology. To improve efficiency, the police have implemented an online monitoring module that allows Superintendents of Police in every district to track pending complaints and ensure timely resolutions.
