Haryana approves Rs 9,700 crore for ring roads and bypass projects

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved a major infrastructure initiative to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the state. The plan involves developing ring roads and National Highways outside cities and towns with populations exceeding one lakh.

The state will invest approximately Rs. 9,700 crore in major bypass projects located in Hisar, Kurukshetra, Narnaul, Jind, and Sohna-Palwal. Specifically, the Hisar Bypass is intended to connect the Hisar-Rajgarh Road (NH-52) to the Hisar-Delhi and Hisar-Kaithal roads. Additionally, a Detailed Project Report for the Kurukshetra-Ladwa Bypass has been completed, with work expected to begin shortly.

To facilitate these developments, the Chief Minister directed the formulation of a policy for outer ring roads and National Highways that aligns with the Central Government's framework. A three-member committee, consisting of officers from the Finance, Public Works, and Urban Local Bodies departments, has been established to manage the state's financial contributions under a cost-sharing arrangement with the Central Government.
