Haryana ATS uncovers international narco-terrorism network
The Haryana Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has uncovered an international narco-terrorism network following a shooting at the Alif Laila Night Club in Panchkula on September 13. The incident, which resulted in an injury to a young woman, began as an argument among youths at the club that escalated into gunfire.
Investigations revealed that the suspects are linked to a global syndicate involving terror funding, a hawala network, and international drug trafficking. Authorities stated that handlers based abroad, specifically in the United States, provided the group with money, vehicles, and accommodation to facilitate the transport of weapons, narcotics, and drug money.
Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, with arrests made in Panchkula, Mohali, and Ludhiana. Recovered items include a Turkish-made Zigana pistol, a US-made pistol, a 30-bore pistol, 12 rounds of ammunition, 529 grams of ‘chitta’ (a synthetic drug), and three cash counting machines. The investigation has been transferred to the ATS to trace the weapon suppliers and the full extent of the network.
