Haryana CM announces end to contractor-middlemen employment system

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced in the Vidhan Sabha that the state government has overhauled the contractual employment system through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. He stated that the new framework aims to eliminate the decades-old role of contractors and middlemen, which he characterized as a system marked by exploitation, lack of transparency, and commissions.

Saini alleged that under previous contractor-based arrangements, young employees faced significant exploitation, including unpaid wages and being paid for only 11 months instead of 12. The current administration intends to replace this with a system linked to merit, rules, and social security to ensure an accountable and employee-centric process.
