Haryana Congress leader criticizes state power crisis
Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has criticized the Haryana government regarding an ongoing electricity and water crisis affecting households, businesses, and industries across the state. Surjewala demanded the cancellation of tenders awarded to private companies for the power distribution system, alleging that the government is attempting to privatize distribution for undisclosed benefits.
He specifically claimed that privatization efforts are being concentrated in Gurugram and Nuh due to high profit potential in those areas. Surjewala also questioned the accountability of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) and challenged Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s position on the matter, suggesting the administration is responsible for the lack of basic necessities and the resulting public frustration.
