Haryana government launches horticulture subsidy scheme for farmers
The Haryana government has implemented a subsidy scheme for horticulture cultivation to boost farmers' income and encourage the production of fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and aromatic plants.
Under the scheme, subsidies for establishing new orchards range from ₹24,500 to ₹1,40,000 per acre, with a maximum limit of 5 acres. For vegetable cultivation, general category farmers can receive ₹15,000 per acre for up to 5 acres, while scheduled category farmers can receive ₹25,500 per acre for up to 1 acre, provided they adopt integrated models such as mulching, low tunnels, drip irrigation, or bamboo staking.
Additional financial assistance is available for other crops: spices receive between ₹15,000 and ₹30,000 per acre, flowers receive between ₹8,000 and ₹40,000 per acre, and aromatic plants receive ₹8,000 per acre. All payments will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts to ensure transparency.
To qualify, farmers must be registered on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ and ‘Hortnet’ portals. Required documentation includes personal details, a family identity card, and complete bank account information, including the IFSC code.
