Haryana marks 60 years of development and political evolution
Since its establishment on November 1, 1966, the Indian state of Haryana has undergone significant social, economic, and political transformations. Originally a primarily agricultural region, the state became a major contributor to India’s food grain pool following the Green Revolution, transitioning from traditional farming methods to advanced mechanized agriculture.
Economically, Haryana has diversified from its agrarian roots to become an industrial and technological hub. Cities such as Gurugram, Faridabad, and Panipat have emerged as centers for automobile, textile, and information technology industries. Rural infrastructure has also seen substantial improvements, with increased access to electricity, paved roads, healthcare, and digital connectivity.
Politically, the state's landscape has been shaped by evolving caste and community identities. The Kamboj community, for instance, has played a notable role in the state's democratic processes, influencing public policy and social equality through political representation.
