Haryana voter verification reunites brothers after 35 years

A routine voter verification exercise in the Jind district of Haryana resulted in the reunion of two brothers who had been separated for 35 years. The meeting occurred during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process at the Government Senior Secondary School in Manoharpur.

Sita Ram visited the school to collect his school-leaving certificate. During the verification process, Booth Level Officer (BLO) Krishan Kumar asked for family details, including the name of Sita Ram’s brother. Upon hearing the name, the officer contacted Balbir, who immediately recognized his brother and stated he had been searching for him for decades.

The family had previously presumed Sita Ram to be dead. Following the phone call, Balbir traveled to the school to meet Sita Ram, leading to an emotional reunion witnessed by those present at the institution.
