The Harzer-Hexen-Stieg is a prominent long-distance hiking trail located in the Harz region of Germany. The main route spans approximately 94 kilometers, stretching from Osterode in Lower Saxony to Thale in Saxony-Anhalt, though total variations can reach about 150 kilometers.
Key landmarks along the path include the Brocken, the highest mountain in Northern Germany at 1,141 meters. The trail is marked by a white witch symbol within a green circle. Established in 2003, the route received the ‘Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland’ certification in 2007. Hikers often divide the journey into five stages, with experienced trekkers completing it in four days and leisure hikers taking six to seven days.
