Hasan Ismaik threatens TSV 1860 München with legal action

Investor Hasan Ismaik has threatened legal action against TSV 1860 München following the opening of insolvency proceedings for the club's former professional football operations company, TSV München von 1860 GmbH & Co. KGaA.

Ismaik alleges that club officials negligently caused the insolvency and that the subsequent establishment of a new operating company was a targeted attempt to damage his rights. He has suggested potential violations of corporate law and raised questions regarding criminal liability, though he has not yet filed a formal lawsuit.

The insolvency proceedings were opened by the Munich District Court on September 1, 2026. Dr. Max Liebig has been appointed as the insolvency administrator. Following the opening, a creditors' committee approved a proposal from the parent club and a newly formed operating company to take over brand rights and essential assets.

The club has countered these claims, stating that companies associated with Ismaik terminated loans shortly before the deadline for proving liquidity. The club maintains that, according to legal counsel, these terminations were invalid.
