Hasan Kalyoncu University students win third place in underwater rocket competition

The Teknogaraj Meftun-u Rocket Team, composed of students from Hasan Kalyoncu University, secured third place in the underwater rocket competition held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast.

Following a seventh-place finish last year, the team expanded from six to 12 members and implemented significant upgrades to the vehicle. These improvements included comprehensive changes to the mechanical, electronic, and software systems, including custom-designed hardware, improved servo motor sealing, and specialized guidance, communication, and safety systems. The rocket features a blunt nose design, pressure sensors for depth perception, and emergency stop mechanisms.

Team captain Burak Çakmak noted that much of the vehicle's avionics and software were developed through their own designs. The students aim to pass their technical expertise and experience down to future students to ensure the continuity of the project after their graduation.
