Hasan Keskin travels Turkey in Sultan Alparslan attire to teach history

Hasan Keskin, a 72-year-old man from the Tavas district of Denizli, is traveling across Turkey dressed in attire symbolizing Sultan Alparslan to educate young people about Seljuk and Ottoman history.

Having visited approximately 60 provinces, Keskin travels using his own resources, often staying in a tent, municipal guesthouses, or mosque courtyards. His journey is inspired by his military service in Malazgirt in 1974, which sparked a lifelong admiration for Sultan Alparslan.

During a recent visit to Sivas, Keskin participated in events marking the anniversary of the Sivas Congress and visited the tomb of İzzeddin Keykavus. He stated that his goal is to fill perceived gaps in historical education by sharing the significance of events like the 1071 Battle of Manzikert with the younger generation.
