Arafat Minhas leads Pakistan to 87-run victory over England
Arafat Minhas delivered a standout all-round performance to lead Pakistan to an 87-run victory against England in the second match of the ODI tri-series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Minhas scored 59 runs and claimed six wickets for 40 runs with his left-arm spin, helping Pakistan recover from an early batting collapse to post a total of 302-9.
Hasan Nawaz contributed significantly to the total with 79 runs, including four sixes, setting a new record for the most sixes hit by a Pakistani batter in a home ODI against England. Despite a strong 91-run opening partnership from England’s Tom Banton (57) and Ben Duckett (45), the visitors were bowled out for 215 in 38.4 overs following a middle-order collapse triggered by Minhas.
With this win, Pakistan remains at the top of the tri-series points table following their previous victory over Sri Lanka. England now sits at the bottom of the standings.
