Hasan Piker becomes central figure in Michigan Senate race

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has become a central point of contention in the Michigan Senate race. Republican candidate Mike Rogers has frequently highlighted the connection between Piker and Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed to criticize the Democratic platform.

During a speech at the GOP’s Midterm Convention in Dallas, Rogers invoked Piker’s past controversial remarks regarding the September 11 attacks. El-Sayed has previously distanced himself from Piker’s comments, including statements regarding Israel and warnings of potential action against American Jews. While Piker has campaigned for El-Sayed, critics argue that the influencer's presence has become a focal point for political opposition in the state.
