Hasan Piker sues Scott Jennings for defamation

Political streamer Hasan Piker has filed a defamation lawsuit in a Washington, D.C. federal court against conservative commentator Scott Jennings. The suit seeks at least $27.5 million in compensatory damages and $45 million in punitive damages.

Piker alleges that Jennings used a heavily edited, 42-second clip from an August 11 episode of “The Scott Jennings Show” to falsely claim that Piker advocated for the lynching of Black Americans. According to the complaint, the footage combined clips from three separate 2024 Twitch broadcasts, rearranging them to mischaracterize sarcasm as support for racial violence.

The lawsuit asserts that Jennings either knew the claims were false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth by using fabricated and manipulated video to attack political opponents.
