Hasanlu historical village prioritized for tourism development in Iran

Reza Rahmani, the Governor of West Azerbaijan, has announced plans to prioritize the development of the Hasanlu historical village and its ancient mound as key tourism assets for the province. Following the opening of the Shams Tabrizi shrine, officials aim to implement a comprehensive plan to improve infrastructure, including access roads, sanitation, eco-lodges, and handicraft centers.

The initiative seeks to leverage the area's multi-millennial history and natural attractions, such as the Hasanlu dam and wetland, to boost the local economy. Efforts are also being directed toward securing international recognition for the village and preserving its unique cultural identity through organized archaeological excavations and urban management.
