Hasanuddin University explores legal cooperation with UNODC

The Faculty of Law at Hasanuddin University (FH Unhas) is exploring strategic collaboration opportunities with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the Southeast Asia and Pacific region. A delegation led by Dean Professor Dr. Hamzah Halim met with UNODC representatives in Bangkok to discuss strengthening legal education, research, and capacity building.

The proposed cooperation focuses on several critical areas, including the prevention of transnational crime, anti-corruption efforts, and addressing crimes related to natural resources and the environment. Additionally, the partnership aims to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies and public institutions.

FH Unhas has proposed concrete collaborative programs such as student internships, professional training, joint research, seminars, and academic exchanges. The university also highlighted its specialized research centers, including the Research Center for Prosecution and the recently inaugurated Research Center for Police Forces, as key assets for academic and practical synergy with UNODC experts.
