Hashim Thaçi defense team accuses former prosecutor of lying

Lirim Greiçevci, a member of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi’s defense team, has accused former prosecutor Clint Williamson of making false statements regarding investigations into organ trafficking.

According to Greiçevci, Williamson previously claimed in a Brussels press conference that his investigations had “generally proven” the allegations made in the Dick Marty report. Greiçevci further alleges that Williamson lied by stating organ trafficking occurred in a limited number of cases—fewer than ten—and that an indictment was ready pending the formation of a court.

The defense team claims to have reviewed Williamson’s documentation and asserts that it does not support his findings. Greiçevci characterized Williamson as a “deceitful prosecutor” who was more harmful than Dick Marty, stating that the alleged indictment was never submitted or confirmed and that judicial bodies had previously dismissed accusations related to events after June 20, 1999.
