Haskovo region reports power outages and low voter turnout

Four polling stations in the Haskovo region experienced power outages during voting. The affected areas included the villages of Patnikovo, Byal Bunar, and Svetoslav in the Stambolovo municipality, as well as one section in Mineralni Bani. In the Stambolovo villages, voting machines continued to operate using emergency batteries, which were expected to last approximately three hours. Power was restored to the Stambolovo sections by 15:00, while the issue in Mineralni Bani was resolved earlier in the afternoon.

Additionally, a voting machine malfunctioned in the village of Elena, within the Haskovo municipality, necessitating the use of paper ballots at that location.

Voter turnout in the Haskovo region remained low. By 16:00, the turnout was recorded at 14.18%, with 31,918 voters participating out of 225,051 eligible voters. This figure is significantly lower than the 26.82% turnout recorded during the first round of the 2021 presidential elections.
