Hasselblad sees major profit growth from mirrorless camera shift

Hasselblad’s strategic transition into the medium format mirrorless market has resulted in significant financial growth. While the company’s mirrorless era began in 2016 with the 50-megapixel X1D, the most substantial financial shifts occurred during its move toward 100-megapixel technology.

Annual reports from 2020 to 2025 indicate a consistent upward trend in both revenue and operating profit. Following a period where annual operating profits fluctuated between $4.4 million and $5.3 million, the company saw a sharp increase in 2023, posting an operating profit of $23.3 million. This coincided with the first full year of the X2D 100C on the market.

Growth continued through 2024 and 2025, with operating profits reaching $41.7 million and $46.8 million, respectively. This recent success was bolstered by the launch of the X2D II 100C. Additionally, annual sales revenue rose from a range of $74 million to $85.8 million between 2020 and 2022 to $325.9 million in 2025.
