Hastings rodeo arena undergoes safety and equipment upgrades
The Adams County Fairgrounds in Hastings, Nebraska, has implemented significant infrastructure upgrades to improve safety for both animals and personnel ahead of the 35th annual Oregon Trail Rodeo.
Key improvements include the installation of WW Livestock Systems bucking chutes, which replace older equipment that caused delays and safety risks due to improper latching and sizing issues. The chutes have been relocated to the east side of the arena to provide better views for the crowd and more natural movement for the animals.
Additionally, the facility has added over 5,700 square feet of semi-permanent holding pens for horses, bulls, calves, and steers. New Priefert brand roping boxes have also been installed at the south end of the arena. The PRCA-sanctioned Oregon Trail Rodeo is scheduled to take place from August 14-16.
