Hatay farmer distributes 50 tons of melons for free to earthquake survivors

Ahmet Denizli, a farmer in Hatay, Turkey, has begun distributing 50 tons of melons free of charge to residents living in container cities following earthquake damage in the region.

Denizli decided to donate his harvest after merchants offered only 5 TL per melon, a price he felt did not cover his labor and harvesting costs. Rather than selling the produce at a low profit, he stated that he prefers to earn the blessings of those in need.

During a recent distribution at the Bursa Sanayi Odası container city in the Antakya district, 3 tons of melons were distributed and consumed by residents within five minutes. The farmer plans to continue the free distribution across various container cities for ten days.
