Hatay Governor Announces Over 11 Billion Lira Sports Investment After Earthquake
Governor Mustafa Masatlı said that more than 11 billion lira have been spent on new sports facilities in Hatay as part of the reconstruction following the February 6 earthquakes that devastated the province. The projects include Turkey’s first surf centre, the Çevlik Diving Village, 100 futsal fields, seven football pitches, seven indoor halls, a 1,000‑person athletics track and four student dormitories. Masatlı emphasized that the aim is to improve residents’ well‑being and to erase the disaster’s lingering impact. He thanked the President, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the metropolitan municipality for their support in delivering the facilities, many of which are already in use while others are still under construction.
