Turkish Provinces Hatay and Erzurum Outline Multi‑Billion Lira Investment Plans for 2026

Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı chaired the 2026 third‑term Provincial Coordination Council meeting, reviewing ongoing post‑earthquake reconstruction and a broad set of infrastructure, social and cultural projects aimed at making the city more resilient and modern. He highlighted the scale of investments launched after the February 6 earthquakes and stressed continued inter‑agency coordination.

In Erzurum, Deputy Governor Ahmet Özdemir reported that 520 public‑sector projects amount to 164.35 billion Turkish lira. The portfolio’s planned spending ratio is 27.05 % for 2026, with cash‑based execution at 36.79 %. Of the projects, 36 are completed, 349 are in progress, 96 are in tender, and 39 have not yet started, covering road, water, energy and environmental programmes.
