Hatay thieves fail to rob jewelry store after drilling through wall
Two thieves attempted to rob a jewelry store in the Antakya district of Hatay by drilling through the wall of an adjacent tailor shop. The incident occurred at the 100. Yıl Çarşısı in the Haraparası neighborhood.
According to reports, the suspects forced entry into the tailor shop owned by Süleyman Tarhana and used a drill to penetrate the wall shared with the jewelry store. While they managed to damage the steel safe, they were unable to cut through it or access the gold inside, ultimately leaving the scene empty-handed.
Tarhana discovered the scene in the morning after noticing a burning smell and dust throughout his shop. Local police have launched an investigation and are reviewing security camera footage to identify and apprehend the two suspects.
