The Haute-Savoie region in the French Alps offers diverse outdoor activities for summer visitors, ranging from high-altitude trekking to family-friendly excursions.

In the Chamonix Valley, the Lacs de Chéserys, situated between 2,100 and 2,300 meters, serve as a popular destination for hikers seeking views of the Mont-Blanc massif. Due to the fragility of the local ecosystem, swimming has been strictly prohibited since 2023, and no nautical activities are allowed. The area, which received the ‘Flocon vert’ label in 2022 for environmental management, also enforces strict rules for bivouacking, which requires mandatory reservations.
