Haval Khalil arrested in Romania for suspected gang crimes

Haval Khalil, a 31-year-old Swedish rapper and suspected gang leader, has been arrested in Romania following a coordinated operation involving the Swedish Police, Europol, and Romanian authorities. Khalil is described by Swedish police as a ‘high-priority person’ believed to be a driving force behind serious and systemic violence in the Stockholm region.

He is suspected of involvement in three separate criminal incidents in Sweden during the autumn of 2024, including aiding attempted murder and aggravated extortion. Specifically, he is linked to a shooting at a terraced house in Skarpnäck. During the raid on his residence in Romania, where he had lived for approximately three years, authorities seized two weapons, a bulletproof vest, hard drives, and various plants.

Khalil has a prior criminal record, having served time for his involvement in the 2021 kidnapping of the rapper Einár. Following his arrest, he was remanded in custody by the Södertälje District Court.
