HAVAMAŞ reports losses due to illegal transportation services
HAVAMAŞ, a passenger transport service provider for Çukurova International Airport, has reported significant losses due to illegal, unlicensed transportation services in the region. Between August 2024 and August 2026, the company transported 2,123,000 passengers across 11 locations in four provinces: Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, and Hatay.
HAVAMAŞ General Manager Ahmet Kurt noted a discrepancy between the company's passenger figures and the 10,570,000 total passengers reported by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for the airport during the same period. Kurt stated that all HAVAMAŞ passengers are officially registered through the Ministry's ticketing system, contributing to state revenue.
The company operates with a staff of 133, including 15 women, and utilizes a modern fleet of 2026 model Temsa vehicles. Kurt emphasized that increased inspections and stronger sanctions against illegal operators are necessary to protect the sector and allow the company to utilize its full capacity.
