HAVELSAN develops autonomous BOZBEY VTOL UAV

HAVELSAN has developed BOZBEY, an autonomous sub-cloud Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) designed for various mission profiles. According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the system features vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities, allowing it to operate without a runway.

BOZBEY is designed to operate fully autonomously and can work in coordination with other unmanned systems, including the BAHA and BULUT platforms. The system is capable of integrated operations across air, land, and sea environments.

The rise of such autonomous and semi-autonomous systems, including UAVs/SIHAs, is driving a digital revolution in combat doctrine. These technologies enable swarm tactics, asymmetric warfare advantages through cost-effectiveness, and increased battlefield transparency via advanced sensors, while also introducing challenges regarding human control in decision-making loops.
