HAVELSAN signs HAMZA-1 UAV sales agreement with Egypt's AOI

Turkish defense company HAVELSAN has entered the commercial phase of the HAMZA-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program through a sales agreement with Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).

Signed during the El Alamein International Aviation Fair 2026, the agreement marks a transition from technology development and joint production to commercial sales and delivery. The HAMZA-1 is an autonomous UAV featuring vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities.

The partnership originated from a strategic cooperation agreement signed in August 2025, aimed at combining HAVELSAN’s autonomous systems engineering with AOI’s local manufacturing capacity in Egypt. The HAMZA-1 platform was previously showcased at the EDEX 2025 defense fair in Cairo.
