Haven Studios playtests Fairgames under codename Project Espresso

Sony's Haven Studios appears to be conducting closed playtests for its upcoming competitive title, Fairgames, under the codename ‘Project Espresso’. The playtests are being hosted on the Player.gg platform and are described as an unannounced AAA competitive action shooter for PS5 and PC.

Leaked gameplay footage and descriptions suggest the game has shifted toward an extraction shooter format. The gameplay loop reportedly involves three modes: ‘Break In’, where players find vault codes and loot; ‘Drill’, where players compete over an already breached vault; and ‘Extract’, where teams must reach an extraction point with their spoils.

Due to rumors of mixed initial feedback and a perceived lack of innovation, there is speculation that Sony may rebrand the project. Some reports suggest the title could change to ‘Break In’, a trademark recently registered by PlayStation.
