Construction of a new bridge in Havlíčkův Brod has entered the foundation stage, with more than 70 large‑diameter pilot piles being drilled into stable geological layers. The works, overseen by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD), will require roughly 150–200 fully loaded concrete mixer trucks for the foundation concrete.

The bridge is being built to carry loads up to 900 tonnes, enabling the transport of oversized components for the Dukovany nuclear power plant. The project’s cost exceeds 158 million Czech crowns (excluding VAT). Demolition of the old bridge was completed by mid‑May, and about 2,500 tonnes of concrete rubble were removed in June. First traffic over the new structure is expected in the second half of the next year.

Strabag is the general contractor responsible for the construction.
