Havlíčkův Brod expands cycling network and repurposes railway bridge

Havlíčkův Brod is working to create a continuous network of cycling paths through various municipal initiatives. A key part of the plan involves repurposing an old riveted railway bridge, purchased by the city for approximately 300,000 CZK, to cross the Sázava river. The bridge will be relocated near the local theater and will feature two lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, alongside a small cafe and a potential rental service for canoes.

Other ongoing projects include the Horní Papšíkov–Perknov path and the acquisition of land to extend routes along the left bank of the river. The city's long-term vision, outlined in a cycling master plan, aims to connect various sections to improve safety and connectivity for commuters and recreational users.
