Havlíčkův Brod faces housing challenges as land prices rise

In Havlíčkův Brod, the availability of building plots remains a central issue for residents. While the municipality offers land and involves private investors in development, high prices are creating barriers for younger families.

Prospective buyers have reported that electronic auctions for plots, such as those in the Na Nebi location, drive prices to levels that are increasingly unaffordable for young people. This issue echoes historical challenges in the region; following the political changes in 1990, the city struggled with unclear property ownership and land shortages, which occasionally complicated municipal construction projects.
