Hawa Abdoul Ba criticizes Mary Teuw Niane over attacks on Ousmane Sonko

Liberal leader Hawa Abdoul Ba has criticized Mary Teuw Niane for making indirect attacks against Ousmane Sonko. Ba urged Niane to name Sonko directly rather than using veiled criticisms, stating that such indirect attacks do not demonstrate political courage.

Ba noted that Niane had previously joined the Diomaye Président coalition in 2024, a political movement in which Sonko played a central role. She accused Niane of attempting to rewrite political history following the rift between Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Sonko.

Furthermore, Ba questioned why these attacks persist now that Sonko is no longer in government. She called on Niane and other officials close to the current administration to focus on their official responsibilities and deliver results for Senegal rather than engaging in political disputes.
