Hawa Koomson declares bid for NPP National Women’s Organiser

Mavis Hawa Koomson, the former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, has officially declared her intention to run for the position of National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Before submitting her nomination at the party headquarters, Koomson and her campaign team met with the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to formally communicate her decision and outline her vision. Koomson stated that her candidacy is aimed at building a more organized and dynamic Women’s Wing to support the party in the 2028 general elections.

Koomson characterized the current political climate as a pivotal moment for Ghana, criticizing the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for steering the country in the wrong direction. She emphasized that the NPP Women’s Wing must provide bold and assertive leadership to ensure a victorious outcome for the party and its leadership in the upcoming electoral cycle.
