Hawaiʻi prepares for peak hurricane season with community resilience efforts

As the Central Pacific enters the peak of hurricane season, the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation (HCF) is increasing support for its Stronger Hawaiʻi Fund. The fund is designed to provide flexible resources for disaster preparedness, immediate response, and long-term community recovery following severe weather events such as hurricanes, flooding, and wildfires.

National Weather Service forecasters have predicted a busier-than-usual 2026 season. In response, community members are encouraged to review emergency plans and secure essential supplies, including food and water. HCF CEO and President Terry George noted that the fund aims to ensure communities have access to coordinated support and pathways for recovery before, during, and after disasters strike.
