Hawaii Regional Scholastic Art Awards call for student entries

Lexus Hawaii and the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts have announced the 2026-27 Hawaii Regional Scholastic Art Awards. Students in grades 7 through 12 from public, private, charter, and home schools are invited to submit artwork between October 1 and December 12.

The theme for this year is “Electrification,” focusing on energy, innovation, and the forces that shape the future. Participants will be considered for Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention awards. Gold and Silver Key winners will have their work displayed at the Le‘ahi Gallery of Capitol Modern in Spring 2027 and will be eligible for national recognition.

Additional honors include the Lexus Hawaii Takumi Award, which provides 10 students with a $200 cash prize, and the Lexus Hawaii Visionary Award. The latter offers a nationally recognized Gold or Silver Key winner a $4,000 scholarship and a $4,000 grant for their school’s art program.
