Hawaiian Airlines Rolls Out First Moana-Themed Livery Ahead of Disney Film
Hawaiian Airlines unveiled the first of three special aircraft liveries inspired by Disney’s upcoming live‑action Moana, set to open on 10 July 2026. The initial design decorates an Airbus A321neo (N227HA) and displays characters such as the demigod Maui with his fishhook, the coconut‑armored Kakamora, and the animal companions Heihei and Pua on the wingtips and interior overhead bins.
Two additional aircraft – a flagship Airbus A330 and a Boeing 717 serving inter‑island routes – will receive similar Moana‑themed designs in July, completing the “Voyage beyond the reef” series. The promotion aligns with the airline’s long‑standing tradition of honoring Polynesian navigation and naming its fleet after native flora and fauna. Hawaiian Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, plans to join the Oneworld alliance in 2026 and operates a network that reaches over 140 destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific.
