Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell urges focus ahead of clash with Western Bulldogs

Mitchell dismissed discussions about the upcoming mid‑season bye, saying “What bye? That's kind‑of our attitude. Mitchell highlighted the Bulldogs’ midfield strength, centred on captain Marcus Bontempelli, and noted the form of players such as Ed Richards, Ryley Sanders and Matt Kennedy. He also mentioned the return of ruckman Tim English for Hawthorn and the improving health of the squad, with Will Day back after a comeback and injuries to Tom Barrass and Conor Nash easing.
