Hay Festival Querétaro brings cultural activities to SEDIF centers

As part of the Hay Festival Querétaro 2026, held from September 4 to 6, the State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) organized cultural activities for vulnerable populations in Querétaro, Mexico.

At the Plan Vida Gerontological Center, Paola Fernández Trejo, the Procurator for the Integral Care and Protection of Older Adults, led a discussion titled ‘Sobre el Duelo’ (On Grief). The session, featuring Spanish author Pol Guasch and moderator Margarita Aguilar Urbán, addressed topics such as suicide, loss, and family silence. Fernández Trejo noted that older adults face various forms of grief, including the loss of mobility, autonomy, and social connections.

Additionally, at the CAS Carmelita Ballesteros, Manuel Hernández Rodríguez, the Procurator for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, hosted author Elaine Vilar Madruga. Vilar Madruga, author of ‘Un Globo Rojo en tu Ventana’, conducted a literary workshop designed to encourage children and adolescents to engage with cultural expressions and learn creative writing techniques.
