HAYATO and Miisha Shimizu release High School Musical duet

HAYATO, a member of the dance and vocal group MAZZEL, has released a collaboration video with artist and musical theater performer Miisha Shimizu. The duo performed “Start of Something New,” a signature song from the Disney Channel series “High School Musical.”

The video was released via the “MAZZEL COLOR” project on MAZZEL’s official YouTube channel. The timing of the release coincides with the 20th anniversary of “High School Musical” first broadcasting on Disney Channel in Japan.

As it was the first time the two performers had met, they noted that the performance captured a sense of tension and excitement similar to the meeting of the characters Troy and Gabriella from the original musical.
