Haydée Copati releases book on Cardinal Estanislao Esteban Karlic

Haydée Copati, a long-time assistant to the late Cardinal Estanislao Esteban Karlic, is presenting her new book, ‘Servir. Memoria agradecida del Cardenal Karlic’. The work offers an intimate look at the life of the former Archbishop of Paraná, covering his tenure from 1983 until his death in 2025.

Copati, who served as Karlic’s assistant for over two decades and as vice-chancellor of the Archdiocese for 18 years, details his religious and institutional legacy. Key highlights include his role in founding various religious houses, his support for lay movements, and his theological work, which included assisting Cardinal Ratzinger in drafting the universal Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The Chamber of Deputies in Entre Ríos has recognized the book through an initiative by Deputy Fabián Rogel. The recognition highlights Karlic’s impact as a peacemaker and his leadership as President of the Argentine Episcopal Conference between 1996 and 2002, as well as his role in facilitating Pope John Paul II’s 1987 visit to Paraná.
