Hayden Mullins appointed manager of Newport County

Newport County announced that former Premier League midfielder Hayden Mullins will take over as first‑team manager, succeeding Christian Fuchs who left the club in late June after securing League Two safety. Mullins, 46, joins from Fulham where he led the under‑21 side to the 2024 Premier League Cup, and brings a playing career that included spells at Crystal Palace, West Ham, Portsmouth and England under‑21 caps. He also has coaching experience with Watford, Colchester United and a brief stint with the Turks and Caicos Islands national team.

The appointment was confirmed by club owner Huw Jenkins, with interim boss Chris Todd expected to remain on the coaching staff. Mullins' first match will be a pre‑season friendly against Yeovil Town, followed by a game against AS Roma on August 4.
